Not long ago, we launched our new brand. As part of this change, we codified our core company values – we wrote them down and shared them widely within our company. Here’s what we came up with:
We truly believe in these values. And we expect ourselves not only to live them, but also to grow within them.
This past year – which was challenging in so many ways – has truly put these beliefs to the test.
One of the most important values is “Play For Each Other” – we show up for each other, act with empathy, and bring our authentic selves to work every day. And this includes our respective communities. Wherever we live and work, we recognize that we’re part of a greater whole – a whole that we receive so much from, but that also needs us sometimes.
The Power of Giving
We believe in the power of giving – especially in challenging times like these. And if there is one thing we learned from the past year, it is the power of community, camaraderie, and friendship.
That’s why we decided to put our values into practice – not to just “talk the talk,” but also “walk the walk.” Here’s what we did:
Giving Back to Small Business
Wherever we live, small businesses are the heart and soul of our communities. They are the engine that drives our economies Yet they are also arguably taking the worst hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the spirit of putting our core values to work, we decided to create a program that would help local businesses in communities where Panaya team members reside – while also showing our team how much we care about them.
We came up with a great idea:
We gave each Panaya employee worldwide a $100 bonus. All that we asked was that they spend this money at a local business of their choice. Whether it was ordering takeout from a favorite local restaurant, shopping at local stores, buying a fun picnic basket and gathering at a beautiful spot outside, or even sending flowers to loved ones – all they had to do was keep it local and enjoy.
