Recently, Panaya conducted a survey of ERP enthusiasts from all walks of life to find out what they thought about ERP in the cloud. Is it fact or fiction?
Well, the answer is that it is fact.
According to our research, 8% think ERP will move fully to the cloud when Elvis comes back. But, more than 60% think that ERP will move to the cloud within the next few years, and another quarter see full-cloud adoption within 10 years.
Even if all ERP is not moving fully to the cloud, many applications are making the cloud journey.
Most respondents – 57% — think that, at least for the first decade, there will be a hybrid model – mixing between ERP on-premise and the cloud. However, 28% expect to go all the way to the cloud.
In fact, 23% of the respondents trust cloud vendors more than they trust their own IT departments. An additional 59% believe that, while there will be hiccups, they can trust the major ERP vendors for the cloud.
