The first Panaya DACH conference for users was held at the BMW Welt exhibition center in Munich, Germany, on April 18. For the first time ever, Panaya customers, interested parties and partners from a wide variety of industries exchanged news and views on the subject of ERP changes. Around fifty participants attended – including representatives of companies such as DHL, T-Systems, Deutsche Telekom, Knorr-Bremse, and Daimler.
Proceedings were kicked off by Panaya CEO, Doron Gerstel, with his talk on “ERP and the Digital Transformation.” Digital transformation is affecting all business models. As a result of these changes, ERP systems are required to be increasingly agile and flexible. For CIOs this development is both a threat and an opportunity. Companies must always be state-of-the-art but the rate of change is increasing – in this situation testing can easily become a bottleneck. Doron Gerstel illustrated how Panaya’s ERP simulation can help to avoid such bottlenecks and exclude risks.
The talk entitled “Eliminate the Business Bottleneck by Boosting your User Acceptance Tests” by Serge Lazimi in his capacity as Panaya product manager generated a lot of interest. His presentation focused on acceptance tests for ERP systems – the participants were able to follow the process by means of a live demo projected onto a screen. His conclusion was that user acceptance tests are a new major obstacle in the age of digital transformation and Panaya can help overcome this bottleneck.
Another highlight was provided by Freudenberg-IT, which explained to other participants how it uses the Panaya CloudQuality Suite with its customers, thus supporting the management of ERP adjustments. Freudenberg IT is a full-service IT provider based in Weinheim, Germany. Patrick Zornow, the team manager for development and technology at Freudenberg IT, was a guest speaker at the user conference. With the aid of Panaya’s solution, the company has supported various activities: an upgrade to EHP 7, the migration of the system to the HANA database and the import and activation of Simple Finance.
The advantages: It has been possible to significantly reduce project cycle times in all scenarios. Patrick Zornow also pointed out that there were no problems of any kind with on-going developments or when going live. The end result is that all specialist departments were satisfied. The application of the Panaya solution even enabled faults in a parallel business project to be identified, which were already present before the upgrade and would certainly not have been noticed without the tests performed by the Panaya CloudQuality Test Suite.
On this day the conference was wrapped up with an insight into the future of the Panaya solution, which appealed to customers, partners, and interested parties in equal measures. Afterwards, participants met in the Biker’s Lodge at BMW Welt to continue the networking that had already started during breaks on the inner terrace and bring the day to a relaxed close.
In general, the conference gave participants the opportunity to realize that Panaya has developed from a pure upgrade solution to a first class “Scope & Test” solution for all changes in the ERP system, which not only reduces costs and prevents delays, but also optimizes quality.
The feedback from our first DACH event has been entirely positive: If you could not make it this time – do not worry, this will not be the last event of this kind!
